OPA was founded by Darryl Peterson current assistant Varsity coach at Canton Mckinley High School. He played at Akron University and has two sons playing for his current AAU program. Ohio Phenom Academy AAU teams from 2nd-11th grades can be seen in local tournaments in Akron, Dayton, Columbus, Cleveland, Youngstown, Cincinnati, and Massillon, OH. Our elite travel teams travel out of state at least once a month to play some of the top teams in the country. With OPA league play approaching and training all summer you have many opportunities to become a phenom.
We appreciate you visiting our site. Ohio Phenom Academy is the product of a group of the area’s most accomplished coaches and trainers, coming together to provide our young student athletes the opportunity to train and compete at a high level among their peers.

Through various high intensity highly competitive training sessions and clinics we strive to expose your kids to the work ethic and manner it takes to accomplish their development and personal goal.

Ohio Phenom Academy Corporation(OPA)501(c)(3) is a sports, health, and wellness academy that develops holistic approaches in providing unique experiences through athletic training, competitive sports, and life skills programming for the betterment of youth and families in our urban community. OPA programs function as year-long wrap-around services designed to fill a niche’ between local educational institutions and their youth sports programs. Educators, coaches, trainers, and volunteers collaborate to provide a diverse needs-driven, standards-based program provides for 500 students. Our staff have been trained by the Amateur Athletic Union to insure the safety and wellbeing of our athletes and program participants
